Talabiya

Historical Charm in the Heart of the Holy City

A historic neighborhood in Jerusalem, is renowned for its elegant architecture and serene ambiance. Established during the British Mandate period, Talbiya features a mix of grand villas and charming stone houses, many of which were built by affluent Arab and Jewish families in the early 20th century. The area is characterized by tree-lined streets and lush gardens, creating a tranquil environment amidst the bustling city. Talbiya is also home to several cultural and educational institutions, including the Jerusalem Theater and the Van Leer Institute, which contribute to its vibrant intellectual and artistic community. Its central location, near the Old City and other key Jerusalem landmarks, makes Talbiya a desirable residential area, blending historical charm with modern living.

Talabiya’s uniqueness

In addition to its architectural beauty and cultural significance, Talbiya is also known for its proximity to important medical and academic institutions, such as the Hadassah Medical Center and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. This makes the neighborhood not only a residential haven but also a hub for intellectual and professional excellence.

Did you know?

Originally developed in the 1920s by wealthy Arab Christians who built many of the neighborhood's iconic villas. During the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, many residents left, and the area was later resettled by Jewish immigrants. This rich, multi-layered history contributes to Talbiya's unique cultural tapestry, making it a fascinating example of Jerusalem's diverse heritage.

Construction is set to commence imminently, with an expected completion timeline of 4.5 years. Remarkably, all apartments in the project have already been sold by the purchasing group. The site is adjacent to the NYX boutique hotel project by the Fatal Group, which is also under construction. The second phase of the development will feature two additional residential towers, approximately 270 apartments, commercial spaces, and another boutique hotel, pending the advanced approval process from the IBA.
